予選ラウンド競技方法

Group I
１１チームを５チームと６チームのグループに分ける。 それぞれのグループにおいて総当の予選を月曜（２１日）から金曜（２５日）までに実施。全ての試合結果からそれぞれのグループで上位チームを選ぶ。 そして、土曜（２６日）のプレーオフで勝率１位と４位、２位と３位が対戦し、勝者（２チーム）が７月のワールドグループの入れ替え戦へ。
Eleven teams will be drawn into one Round Robin pool of five teams and one of
six teams. The Round Robins will be played Monday through Friday. At the conclusion
of the Round Robins, the teams that finish in first and second position in their
respective pools will play off to determine which two teams will be promoted to
the 2003 World Group Play Offs in July.
Group II
８チームを４チームづつの２グープに分ける。 それぞれのグループにおいて総当の予選を月曜〈２１日〉から水曜（２３日）までに実施。全ての試合結果からそれぞれのグループの順位を決める。 木曜〈２４日〉から土曜（２６日）に行われる順位決定戦でそれぞれのグループの同順位同士が対戦し、Group
IIの総合順位を決める。総合順位の上位２チームが自動的にフェドカップ２００４年アジア・オセアニア地区予選ラウンドでループグループＩに昇格。
A total of eight teams will be drawn into two Round Robin pools of four teams.
The Round Robins will be played Monday through Wednesday and play off rounds will
be held on Thursday and Friday to determine positions 1-8. The teams that finish
in 1st and 2nd position will be automatically promoted to 2004 Asia/Oceania Group
